And The Winner Is. . .

Maxine Louise, assistant to the Head Dog in Charge, Hound from Hell, and Pookie Schmoo has voted too. She is willing to chew the contents of the cupboard thus clearing the way for stash storage!

I'm pretty busy right now waiting for dad to drop some Lucky Charms.

It was close, but Trek is our winner. Trek has the most useless junk in her cupboard. It is useless and the cupboard is full. Her collection of outdated appliance manuals earned her this:

The picture doesn't do the colors justice, but it is "Pebble Beach". All yummy blues and browns.

Here is the thing, and I feel a little guilty about this (who am I kidding I'm Irish Catholic, I feel guilty about EVERYTHING) this isn't a big sacrifice for me. I have tried to get excited about socks. I love the sock postings on everyone's blogs. I just don't think they are for me.

There are several reasons for this. I'm in a very conservative profession where black socks are the uniform. I don't see myself wearing bright socks. I can't convince anyone else that they want to wear socks that I have knitted for them. I hate DPNs. (with the hot passion of a thousand burning suns. No really that much!) There ARE TWO OF THEM! Yes, you finish one and you have to do another right away. I was hoping to try magic loop socks two at a time, but I can't seem to figure it out.

So, I'm glad the STR is going to make another knitter happy because I don't see myself ever using it.

Trek, e-mail me your address and the yarn will be on it's way. Thanks again for participating in my humble contest. I hope you all enjoyed it, I know I certainly did.

Darn. I can't recall being this disappointed about losing a contest in a long time. I'll bet I checked your blog 20 times last night. Oh, well. I hope Trek appreciates the bounty she has received. haha

I'm sorry Tam. You are just too organized compared to Trek I guess. Thanks for playing though. I'm sure I will be lured into buying more great yarn that I will never use and will have to have another contest!

Thanks, Kate - email is on the way.

Now I am wondering if I should clean out that cupboard. Maybe when my cold goes away. Then again, maybe not. :o)

Thanks for the fun, Kate! I enjoyed seeing everyone's cupboards. Misery loves company. :)

Yay, Trek!!

Oh, Kate, if I was knitting socks with DPNs, I'd never have done a single sock... like wrestling with a hedgehog.

Thanks for a very fun contest! And I'm glad to have "met" you through it.

Congrats Trek and thanks Kate! I had a lot of fun with this contest. Who knew that looking into cabinets could be this much fun.

I didn't participate in the COTOTF contest, but really enjoyed the photos!

Oh, and I LURVE to make socks with dpns! Won't even consider trying to learn the 2circ or Magic Loop.

So......if you ever need to dump some sock yarn, maybe we can arrange an exchange of some sort!

I added this comment to one of your old posts but I just thought I would add it here as well, just in case:) If you suspect some yarn may have been exposed to moths, you can put it in the freezer to kill any eggs which may have been laid. That way, anything which may be hatching will be killed off and won't munch its way out from the middle of the ball. Put it in a ziploc bag first!

Don't handle the packs until they've defrosted, or you might snap the yarn.
